Stillwater Public Library is governed by a nine-person Board of Trustees appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The Board of Trustees is the policy making body for the library. Board members may serve up to three terms of three years each. According to City ordinance, trustees must be residents of the City of Stillwater. Meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of the month, in Margaret Rivers A at the library, at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The meeting on August 14th will begin at 8:00 pm.  Attendees may enter the building through the parking ramp on 3rd Street.

This summer during storytime, we'll be sharing books, songs, rhymes and activities about some of the places reading can take you. Come sing, play, read, write, and talk at the library!

In addition to being fun, making things with your hands has many benefits to child development. Supplies and a sample will be available each week. This self paced activity for you to enjoy with your child will be set up in the storytime room with materials available from 3-6 p.m. each Wednesday.

Enjoy a summer evening on the Terrace with the Valley Concert Winds! The Valley Concert Winds, a community band based in Stillwater,  provides opportunity for life-long musical participation while promoting a love of music, especially band music. The group is directed by James DeCaro and Kyle Manley.

Rain location: TBD. An announcement will be posted on the Stillwater Public Library's website if a rain location will be used.

In this interactive BooksMoveME class, kids and grown ups ignite their imagination becoming cats, cows, dogs, frogs, lions and more!  We will move through a kid-friendly warm up, make a picture book come alive through yoga, and end with a "Sleeping Lions" relaxation.  This active story time helps children develop better body awareness, self-control, flexibility, and coordination. A great opportunity for adult and child to come together in a fun and healthy way!

Did you know the library is one place your child can build confidence reading to a furry friend. Bella, the Golden Retriever, is a Certified Therapy dog who visits certain Mondays and she loves when kids read to her.

Call 651-275-4338 or stop by the Public Services Desk next time you are in to register for a 15 minute time slot.

Ages 8-12 with a special adult guest; Registration is required. Sign up with your child's name. No need to register the adult guest.

We will create miniature dwelling places for fairies, trolls and other nature spirits.  These whimsical abodes will be constructed with craft supplies, nature objects, and recycled materials that can withstand some time outdoors.  Exterior and interior furniture and decorative things will also be made for the comfort of our tiny magical friends.    

*students are encouraged to bring small twigs, acorns, bark and natural objects gathered from the backyard.  Recyclable materials that can be re-purposed are also welcome.  

This program is multi-generational. Please let us know after if you'd like to see more programs like these!

"TAB" is open to teens in grades 7-12. If you know what you want to see in the library, have suggestions for titles to order or programming you want to help plan, put in an application today. Applications can be found in the teen library. TAB Meetings are generally the first Monday of the month through the school year from 5-6 pm.

There are many different ways you can be involved so give it a try! Examples of things the TAB has been involved with include helping kids with crafts or games at library events, decorating a bulletin board or creating art for the newly redesigned Teen Library, writing book reviews, talking about popular new books (and receive ARCs!), and sponsoring teen programming like October Read Month, Teen Tech Week. etc.
